About After Action Archive

After Action Archive is hosted by Rosey Brief, a combat veteran. The Archive publishes after-action reviews and analysis of military history — battles, campaigns, and the decisions that shaped them — with a focus on primary sources, contested claims, and what the record actually supports.

Every review follows the same frame: the situation, the plan, what happened on contact, the outcome, and the lessons to sustain or improve. Where historians disagree, we say so.

What lives where

• YouTube — @AfterActionArchiveYT carries the video AARs.
• This site collects Field Notes: episode reading lists, source notes, and longer written reviews.

This site is for adults interested in military history; it is not directed at children.

Books and links

I recommend books and audiobooks I have used or that clearly support an episode’s analysis. Some links are Amazon paid links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That never changes what I recommend. Amazon does not sponsor or endorse this site.

Children’s content is a separate project and is not part of this site or its affiliate program.
